Passover Plates: Chocolate Toffee Bars

Another Passover dessert that is one of my new personal favorites is the chocolate toffee bar. My mom and I made them together this year and they were so good that I could not stop snacking on them while we were making them. That, my friends, is the sign of a tasty treat.

Ingredients:
2 sticks margarine
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup matzo cake meal
Extra cake meal (for sprinkling)
1 3/4 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:
Set the oven to 350 degrees
Lightly grease a 9-by-13 inch baking pan
In an electric mixer, cream the margarine with the sugar until fluffy

Beat in the egg
Then the vanilla

With the beaters on low speed, mix in the cake meal
Combine well

Dust your fingers with the extra cake meal
Press the dough into the pan

Bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown

Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips on top
Set aside for 5 minutes

Use a spatula to spread the melted chocolate evenly
Cut into 18 bars

Serve and enjoy!
