Passover Plates: Meringues

With Passover in full swing and one seder behind us, I thought it would be fun to share some of my family's favorite Passover Plates. Some of these dishes are traditional and some are tasty treats that are family must haves. Without these plates, however, Passover would not be the same for us.

While our seders are filled wonderful food, desserts are always the best. Why not start off with something sweet? Check out one of my all time favorite desserts, during Passover, or really any time of year.

Meringues (with semi sweet chocolate chips or dairy butterscotch chips)

Ingredients:
4 egg whites
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 cup of sugar
1/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips or butterscotch chips

Directions:
Preheat oven to 225 degrees
Beat egg whites until frothy

Add salt and cream of tartar
Beat well
Add sugar gradually

Continue beating until stiff
Make sure that the peaks can stand tall on their own

Fold chosen candy into meringues

Spoon onto cookie sheet covered with wax paper
Bake for 45-60 minutes, until stiff and slightly brown
Yields about 20 meringues

Cool and enjoy.

These easy to make tasty treats are always a crowd pleaser. They are hands down the most delicious Passover dessert out there. YUM

  2. These look great - I bet they'd be wonderful dipped in chocolate too. Will we get to see a macaroon recipe as well? That's my favorite Passover dessert (dipped in chocolate, please). :)
